USUHS:
ECG Teaching

USU second year medical students will soon be leaving the lecture hall and starting in the clinics and wards for the first time as clerkship students!
There is a week-long "transition to clerkship course" during which they get tips on rounding, communication, surgical scrub technique, etc.
ECG interpretation small groups have been among THE most popular sessions and are also a great opportunity for you to connect with the students

These are up to four, 2-hour blocks of instruction:

Wednesday 15DEC: 1300-1500 and 1500-1700Thursday 16DEC: 0800-1000 and 1000-1200

USUHS:
ICR Lectures

Dr. Huprikar is coordinating the Introduction to Clinical Reasoning Lectures for USUHS on Feb 1st and 3rd 2022 (normally from 1300 to 1600 EST). Last year (in lieu of COVID), they had a larger component of leading fairly basic “Cough” and “Dyspnea” discussions utilizing people via Google Meet.

WRNMMC & Georgetown
Humanities Resources and War Experience Dialogue

Create a small group discussion program with active duty service members and veterans, facilitated by medical and psychiatry residents from WRNMMC and Georgetown, focused on using primary humanities resources (books, art) to elicit a dialogue on the experiences of war.

What residents get out of it: Residents will take part in an asynchronous, virtual, 6 part small group facilitation curriculum, that uses elements of the Stanford faculty development program to help teach small group facilitation skills (conduct of session, moderation of conflict, etc). For medical residents interested in MedEd, this could prepare them to be IM Clerkship preceptors at their next duty stations.
